Our size? exclusive collaboration with Reebok honours our roots by diving into the local size? community and our stores. The 'Vancouver' Club C is the third installment following original designs for Brighton and Copenhagen.
This shoe pays tribute to one of Vancouver’s beloved monuments – The Lions Gate Bridge. The Term “Lions Gate” refers to the pair of mountain peaks north of Vancouver called ‘The Two Sisters’. In January of 1939, a year after its open, a pair of cast concrete lions were placed on either side of the south approach to the bridge – designed by sculptor Charles Marega.
The ‘Red X’s and Green Arrow’ which replace the vowels in the Reebok logo, represent Vancouver’s counterflow traffic system. This light system allows operators to change the direction of traffic in one or more lanes to create more efficient traffic flow through the Stanley Park causeway and Lions Gate Bridge - the corridor to Vancouver’s North Shore.
Featured on the tongue label is the embroidered silhouette of the art deco ‘Lion’ statues, which guard Vancouver’s iconic Lions Gate Bridge entrance. The ‘Chalk and Grout’ colorway of the premium leather and suede upper, mimics the color, textures, and weathering on the concrete statues.
Vancouver’s ‘604’ area code embellishment on the heel is one of the nine original North American area codes assigned to Canada. The underlaying green suede is a nod to the painted steel bridge structure itself.
The Reebok Club C 85 'Vancouver' will be available on June 22, exclusively at our Vancouver 'Bute' location.
