An adidas Originals classic full of terrace charm, the Handball Spezial is an archive gem that originally served as an indoor sports shoe that gained a more casual demand beyond the courts. Stripping things back to focus on our size? exclusive, we’re focusing on the silhouette’s story and cultural beginnings – showcasing what the shoe now represents and who they are worn by. For the launch, we’ve teamed up with Liverpudlian documentary photographer and writer, Antony Wilde, to learn more about himself, his work and what the silhouette means to him.
Propelling the low-profile shoe into a new direction, our latest execution incorporates colour-blocked and retooled uppers with mesh laying the foundations. Suede overlays meet smooth leather 3-Stripes, a T-shape toe box, and crinkled tongues celebrating the silhouette’s legacy. Underfoot, it’s complete with a branded gum sole completing the vintage look.
The adidas Originals Handball Spezial Mesh is now available online and in-store at 11AM (local time).
